The New 2023 Toyota Corolla and its Variants

The Toyota Corolla is offered in six trim levels for 2023, including one which is powered by a very efficient hybrid-electric powertrain. Here are the differences between each Corolla model in 2023.

L and LE

The entry-level 2023 Toyota Corolla is the L with the six-speed manual transmission. This version is equipped with a number of standard features such as the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of active safety technologies and the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration in the infotainment system. The L is one of the only two trim levels of the 2023 Corolla to be offered with a manual transmission in place of the CVT that is standard in other models. The LE adds features such as the blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, heated front seats and an automatic climate control system. The available LE upgrade package further adds 16-inch alloy wheels, a smart key access and start system as well as the heated steering wheel, a moon roof and a wireless charging pad.

SE

The SE trim level is a sportier model that gives the 2023 Toyota Corolla a more aggressive appearance with its exclusive exterior styling touches and a more dynamic driving experience due to its larger 2.0L engine. Other features part of the SE trim level include sport seats, specific headlamps and a dual-tipped exhaust system. The SE upgrade package gives access to a more advanced infotainment system and 18-inch alloy wheels, among other features. For more performance, the SE can be equipped with the Apex package, which brings sport-tunned coil springs, exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler and black badging. The SE is the only other trim level of the 2023 Toyota Corolla that offers a manual transmission.

XSE and XLE

These two models mostly differ in appearance since the XLE is luxury-oriented while the XSE is performance oriented. This means that both models feature many standard features such as the Softex-upholstered heated front and rear seats, the 7-inch digital instrument cluster, the 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and the premium audio system with connected services. The XSE adds an available black roof and a number of visual elements that make it stand out more.

Hybrid

Offering the maximum level of fuel efficiency, the 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid sits towards the top of the Corolla lineup in terms of equipment since it comes with the 7-inch digital instrument cluster, the blind spot monitor with rear-cross traffic alert and the automatic climate control system. For more comfort and convenience, the premium package adds the Softex upholstery, the heated rear seats, ambient lighting and the power driver’s seat. Underhood, the Corolla Hybrid adopts a 1.8L gasoline engine helped by an electric motor in order to achieve a fuel consumption as low as 4.5L per 100 kilometres.
