November 17 2022,
The Toyota Prius has been a mainstay in the hybrid car market for over 20 years and shows no signs of slowing down. The all-new 2023 Toyota Prius was revealed at the LA Auto Show, and it boasts a sporty exterior, one-motion silhouette, and all-wheel drive. Let's dive deeper into the features and specs of the all-new Prius.
New Gen Hybrid Powertrain
Toyota's latest Prius comes with a 5th generation hybrid system that enhances driving performance by increasing both engine and battery output. This results in a more responsive accelerator and better handling overall. The powertrain is now bigger and better than ever, boasting a 2.0L engine and a newly-located battery under the rear seat. In addition, Toyota has adopted a standard Electronic On-Demand AWD system for the Canadian market. It also gains quite a few more hp, boasting a 75-horsepower increase in output compared to the previous model.
Toyota Multimedia System and Safety Features
The 2023 Toyota Prius comes with an optional 12.3” display for its multimedia system, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The vehicle also includes an advanced suite of safety features, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, that includes pre-collision warning, lane departure alert, adaptive cruise control and more.
“As a company, we set our sights on developing a new Prius for the future, and our design and engineering teams really delivered,” said Toyota Motor North America group vice president and general manager Dave Christ. “The weight of the Prius name is heavy – it carries with it the identity of an entire category of vehicle powertrain. We’re confident the all-new 2023 Prius and Prius Prime will continue this important legacy.”
The all-new Toyota Prius is sure to turn heads when it hits dealerships next year. With its sporty new look and powerful hybrid engine, the 2023 Prius is poised to continue Toyota's legacy as a leader in the hybrid car market. Keep an eye out for more details about pricing and availability.
